Born in 1925 in Urbana, Ohio and hailed as the father of modern golf course architecture, Mr. Dye earned his Doctoral of Landscape Architecture from Purdue University. He served as President of the prestigious American Society of Golf Course Architect's and is an honored recipient of the ASGCA's Donald Ross Award as well as the PGA's Distinguished Service Award, the PGA Tour's Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Golf Course Superintendent Association's Old Tom Morris Award.
